So Vegas was pretty awesome.

Saw two of the Cirque shows, ate at Bouchon, saw the Grand Canyon, played TPC Vegas, and learned that I fucking suck at blackjack. :D

Hands down the best people-watching spot EVER, btw.

I did Vegas. Was not impressed or entertained.
And I dont think people watching is a sport. I'd rather do something for myself than stare at others.

They do have excellent hookers though. Especially shemales.

I loved Vegas the two times I went. All the shows that you can see there are fantastic. Cirque De Soleil is awesome! I'm not a big gambler though, so that part of it was lost on me.

I gambled more or less just to try it. Never done it before, probably won't ever do it again.

Vegas was hands down the skeeziest, dirtiest, feeling like I was going to catch some odd disease with drunk/drugged whores trying to get with you all over the place. Oh and cigarettes EVERYWHERE. Ew.

It all seems to depend where you go. We had to walk through the casino portion of NYNY to get to a show and it was like a war zone at only 10pm. The more upscale places like Bellagio and the Venetian were more civilized. Sure, you still had your fair share of drunken idiots, but nothing like the mayhem elsewhere.

How was TPC Vegas? Checking the site, the prices don't seem *too* unreasonable...

Can't stand the place. They have a nice airport and the rental car plaza is near the interstate. When I stay there I do so as far away from the strip as possible.

I enjoyed it. It was in great shape and we had perfect weather (low 70's, sunny). Since it's a desert course, you are basically fucked if you miss the fairway, but they are generally wide enough that you have to really fail with the driver to end up in the rocks. There are a couple par-3's that are effectively island greens, but they don't play more than 160 yards or so unless you're on the back tees (which I avoid if possible). The course is on the western edge of town, so the scenery is beautiful. There are homes along the course, but they didn't detract from it IMHO.

Which ones? I saw Ka the last time I went and it was pretty awesome.

We saw O and Zumanity. If seeing the latter, I would avoid seats near the stage unless you like getting pulled out of your seat and verbally accosted by a drag queen. :p

Nice...I've never played "desert golf" but always looks like it'd be fun...I was surprised to see the rates so much cheaper in the middle of summer, but I guess that makes sense w/ the heat.

I had to adjust by about one club to account for the dry air and altitude. The desert is almost like a water hazard in that you are pretty much boned if you end up in it. I think I had one ball that was lying well enough for me to punch it out. They actually put a "rock club" in your back (a beat to shit 7i in my case) for such shots so you don't tear up the rest of your clubs.

Its where flyover state folks go to have a good time.

For gambling & sex - its pretty good. I've found the food to be underwhelming & overpriced. Not hard to do when you live in a massive urban setting like the SF Bay Area.
