wow people are saying that the driver used to use ps3 joysticks on ps4 causes input lag lol. that is whack i'd never use that then. happens in mkx as well.

looks like i'll have to get a ps4 joystick or mod one if i get sf5 when it comes out.

The input lag apparently is the game itself. People on game pad say it feels laggy to begin with. The game is a mess as of right now. I don't know what they are gonna do for Eco and capcom cup cause the game sounds unplayable on ps4. I'm probably gonna buy a ps4 stick later on myself cause there doesn't seem to be a 100% solution otherwise.

are they talking about input lag online only? or also in single player?

if online, that is expected, and exists in ps3/360 versions as well, because of how the game is coded for online play.

One guy said its in training mode too. It could be just a specific move or character that is broke and he didn't specify. Like Decapre's teleport and guile's sonic boom. I can't verify cause I'm not buying it. I'll just stay with PC for now.

The real problem is they let other ocean do the port. They make yu-gi-oh games, the crappy port of mortal kombat trilogy to PS3 and 360, the amazing spiderman(another stinker), some cheap movie tie in games, storybook games for the wii and a bunch of mobile stuff.

Hilarious, Mr. Wizard says they will play on a 360 at evo unless problems are fixed. Even Ono has said he is going to look into it with Sony.

One guy on event hubs has a funny reply.
1st - Evo 2015 is on 360
2nd - It is announced that it will be on ps4 -> people buy ps4 sticks
3rd - Capcom takes their sweet time to let everyone know that they have been working on backwards compatibility with ps3 sticks so $$ wasted.
4th - Capcom screws up with their port and now we're back to 360 so you better have a 360 compatible stick again...

Capcoms new motto might as well be Yo freaking lo.

8 frames of input lag...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXSYyr-lTkg

wow that is awful for a fighter.

for reference, here are other games.

http://www.displaylag.com/video-game-input-lag-database/

Street fighter is designed with input lag in mind due to vsync. The arcade has vsync which adds 3 frames of lag if I remember from my reading. The PC version can mimic the arcade by turning vsync on in the driver and off in the game(on in game adds more). The 360 version has 5.1 frames of lag which is really good. The PS3 6.4 which is decent too. There's no reason the PS4 should have 8 frames and all the other problems. It should be 3 like the arcade without question. A cheapo PC can run the game at 60fps at 720p and perfectly match the arcade experience. No reason they could not do that on a PS4. It's simply Other Ocean being a very crappy developer and why they got this task I'll never know.

Ok, got around to checking the game out on the PS4. Feedback, absolutely horrible. This game is an absolute mess. I don't know how they could screw up a 2D fighter port so bad. Even the menu effects/transitions suffer from lag, and at time the game just becomes impossible to play due to the horrendous lag. NO WAY could they even consider this game for competition.

The ONLY thing I think they did improve was the sound. It actually sounds better than the PS3 version. Other than that, big time failure.

I feel bad for people who bought a PS4 and a new stick because the tourneys would be on PS4 and they wanted to practice on the same hardware. It's really a shame it turned out so poorly. The only thing we can hope for is that Capcom and Sony rip the game away from Other Ocean and fix it. I'll settle for no less than at least xbox 360 levels of lag. Really should be the bare minimum given the PS4 hardware but if it was done right it could be an arcade perfect port equally as good as the PC version. It's not as if the game is pushing the boundaries of the system capabilities.

It is $25 and includes all the dlc ever released for the game. But I don't know how they let it go in the state it's in.

I don't care if it's $0.25. You don't release a broken product.

<---- Worked for a company that released a borken software product that cost a lot of people their jobs.

Do you have any info to back this up. If there was 5 frames of lag, it would be near impossible to do anything on reaction. At 60FPS, 5 frames is 83ms. That is a lot.

You said it was a full price game. It isn't. It's not a $60 retail release.

This port is terrible everything lags including menus, offline and online matches, sound cues are off, missing names online. This is one of the worst releases on ps4.Avoid it if you can.

Holy crap at the patch notes. So many things adjusted but still the legacy sticks have severe input lag that doesn't appear in skull girls so we know it can be done properly and some people say that the game has some missing sounds still. The good news is people say using a native ps4 stick makes the game feel a lot better. Don't know how much lag is there with the pad or a ps4 stick but it's considerably less than before and less than using a legacy stick.

As a huge Halo fan and owner of Halo: MCC, you're absolutely right.

These companies should be ashamed of themselves. Halo 5 has a lot of making up to do.

And so glad SF5 is gonna get a PC version day 1.

New update released! The game is now MUCH better than before! Played it with a gamepad and didn't notice any more lag than the PS3. It was actually pretty smooth. Need to try my arcade stick here shortly.

Input lag is down to 5 frames to match the 360. There are a few hiccups still left. Such as guile's sonic boom vapor trail and the connection bars not displaying properly. What I mean is when you see 0 bars those might not be bad connections, the game is not giving you the right info.
