I was talking with a friend of mine, only one who I know locally that plays any fighters and we haven't seen any info on arcade sticks for this game. Madcatz had a TE2 available for pre-order that sold out, there's a Hori stick out there (but doesn't use sanwa parts). There's no info as to whether they will use the legacy arcade stick driver that allows PS3 sticks to function.
We both decided that we won't buy it ever unless we can use our PS3 sticks. Reason is, we both spent $200 on sticks for PS3(and I again on XB1 for a TE2). He built his and it works on every system except XB1 and PS4. With the PS4 issue of requiring a constant Bluetooth connection for the controller to function, it basically renders the sticks non-functional without the legacy driver.
We came to the following conclusion. Capcom was nuts to make Street Fighter 5 exclusive to Playstation and PC (provided this arcade stick limitation remains), since there is no viable solution for arcade sticks at tourneys using a PS4 as the official console could be problematic because you can only have so many bluetooth devices in the same room before there are problems(the legacy driver requires you to plug in your stick via USB and keep a PS4 controller connected to the console for each stick you use), there is a lack of arcade sticks for the PS4 which is what prompted the developers to create the legacy driver in the first place, and lastly there are no PCBs that function reliably on the PS4 without constantly disconnecting because of the lack of bluetooth connection. So with no way to mod our stick, PS4 sticks from Madcatz being unavailable and likely going up on ebay overpriced, and if there is no support for PS3 sticks it'll likely turn a lot of people off and the community could be lacking.
Anyway this game on PS4 includes all the DLC for $25 which is nice, but with no viable solution known for arcade sticks it's up in the air as to whether we decide to get it or not. If not then we'll wait it out for SF5 and hopefully there will be some sticks available for PS4 at that time. Nobody really plays on PC, I mean people do but the game doesn't play 100% the same between platforms so a lot of people use whatever is the tourney standard which builds a bigger player base. I suck at the game, and routinely get wooped but I still like to play sometimes and I know my friend will want whatever version is standard for tourneys, thus I'll buy that version too.
That ends my little rant and if anyone has thoughts about the situation I'd like to see your take on it. I still think it should be on XB1 too, if for no other reason than because I have a TE2 for my XB1 and I'm sure a lot of people do as well.
