Well it's gone on a break in the United States till January, but one of my buddies mentioned that it is aired both in Canada and Britain. Do they have the same breaks as well?

After that cliffhanger I really want to see the next few.

Yeah, it was a helluva cliffhanger, wasn't it? Now, Sci Fi said it was the "Season Finale", but it was only the 11 or 12th episode, and I'm sure I read that they ordered 22 episodes for the 2nd season. Is this just your typical mid-season hiatus?

I've been totally blown away by this series. Easily the best science fiction produced for film or TV in the last 30 years.

The question I would ask is, when is it going to be up on BT.... not to name any sites because we all know them.

BTW: there have been 10 episodes in season 2 so far.

That was episode 10, last season they had 13... It was the 'summer finale' not the season finale.

Can anyone explain the history of BSG? I was Best Buy over the weekend and saw the "complete series" on DVD. Was it a mini-series that got extended into a regular series? Also, why do they air episodes in the US slower than in other countries? Isn't the show US made?

I'll second that. After the 1st trailer, then a couple of the first episodes, I just kinda' lost track.

Then this weekend, I picked up the last episode & that sucker had me hangin'. (That b*tch on the other ship needs a good ass whoopin'!)

OH..........BTW..................Didn't this all happen in one of the seasons of the original BSG too??? I can't remember if it happened exactly like this, but I just recall them having found another BS but by the end of the episode they were separated again??? (either by battle or choice or whatever???)

Thats just on SCI FI, all of the eps were aired on the Sky Network (in britain) last year, before the last 3 episodes were aired over here.

No it's not US made, it's Canadian made filmed in my home town of Vancouver.

It's a remake.. kind of. They modified the story line alot.

No this isn't exactly what happpened in the original. In the original it was Commander Kain, and the pegasus was sent out on a hit and fade attack on a Cylon Base, thats why it wasn't destroyed.

It was the mid season finale. Sci-Fi splits up there season into two parts. They show their new episodes while the other stations are in repeat, and repeat their shows when the other stations air their new shows.

the SciFi miniseries was a remake of a 70's science fiction television show called Battlestar Galalctica. the core plot is essentially the same (cylons destroy all the planets, leaving the BSG as the one remaining vessle to lead humanity to earth) and many character names are the same, but that's about where the similarities end. the miniseries was continued on into a television show, which continues to share the occasional reference to the 70's show, but is infinitely better in every way.

and to the OP... January.

i heard you shouldn't buy any BestBuy 'exclusive' stuff like BSG Season 1 - it wont have any extras or the miniseries.

For the people wondering about the Season 1 Boxed DVD set:

There are TWO versions.

One is the UK version and the other is the USA version. The UK version was released very early and DOES NOT include the mini-series, that started the show. The USA version DOES have the mini-series. The difference is in the box art and the fact that theres 1 less DVD and about 6 hours less playtime.

More info here:

http://www.trekbbs.com/threads/showflat...page=1&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=7&fpart=1

---

As for the history:

Sci-fi originally ordered the mini-series. They did not want to fully commit to an entire series, although it was planned, because of the huge expense it would garner (we're talking $1.5+ million an episode). They tested the waters with the mini-series and it was deemed a success. The reason that BSG Season 1 aired early in the UK was because Sky-One forwarded money for some rights and Season 1 aired early in the UK. To my knowledge, they are airing season 2 at the same time.

I believe that it's produced by both SciFi and UK's Sky TV networks, so that's why like in season 1 it appeared in the UK first (SciFi decided to show it in January).

Thrace is going to pilot the blackbird towards Pegasus' bridge and eject at the last second, and Pegasus won't be able to stop her because the ship doesn't show up on radar. Yes, that is what will happen.
