600/128 my ass :disgust:

Been this slow for the past 3 weeks, given up calling them as nothing ever gets sorted.

Gaah it sucks downloading at 9k/sec, should be getting 70 :|

<Edit> And another speed test, hosted on ntl's own servers (ie should be bloody fast!)

1st 128K took 11407 ms = 11490 Bytes/sec = approx 96 kbits/sec
2nd 128K took 16266 ms = 8058 Bytes/sec = approx 67 kbits/sec
3rd 128K took 9188 ms = 14266 Bytes/sec = approx 119 kbits/sec
4th 128K took 10345 ms = 12670 Bytes/sec = approx 105 kbits/sec

This blazing connection can be yours for a mere £24.99 per month from ntl:home

4k upload? only 2.5k down...wierd.

Either way I am assuming that is not a home line. I could get a 45Mbps one, but I don't think DSLreports would measure it.

Your download speed : 38338 bps, or 38 kbps.
A 4.6 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 24979 bps, or 24 kbps.
Your connection hardly qualified as broadband, at least in that test

Yay for dialup 🙁

I get what I pay for with BT, 512/256 can pretty much max out on both at the same time. Boy does NTL suck. 😛

Then again, we are still owned in broadband terms by most other countries ........ ie Sweden.

Yep, I am getting ADSL from Pipex/Nildram/Eclipse once BT come and sort out the phone line tomorrow...ntl really sux0rs.

Just been on the phone (finally caved in to the sucky speeds) and spoke to a very nice chatty and cheery woman called Anna (makes a change, most of the times you call it's some bored man with a monotonous voice), and it seems to be ok at the moment, after she removed the account and set it up again, and resetting the STB (and my server 🙁) about 5 times each

I'm using Eclipse at the moment, and loving it. It was up and running three days before they said it would be, runs at max speed, and they have damn good newsgroup access. Compared to the constant problems I used to have with dial up providers, this is heaven 😀
