The irony is that yes they are trying it, however, it doesn't make any difference at all.

The Qataris make a lot more than the expats, so median is bad for Qatar. Your last point made me laugh. While we're at it, let's include hours worked as well. Norway is one of the most "productive".
It's painfully obvious that natural resources and/or big commerce hubs in small countries allow smaller countries to do better than larger countries. It's also obvious why China has crap GDP per capita and why it was necessary for them to prevent people from rampantly breeding to get some momentum on that front.
I was referring to the administrative costs of many programs. Nonetheless, there's more to it as well like the government special interest groups with their monopolized services pushing for bad policy (e.g. lower class sizes in case of teachers, more jail time in the case of correctional officers, marijuana ban in the case of cops, etc.).
In addition, there is an argument many jobs in the private sector aren't useful as well. Many will argue, for example, that a large portion of the finance sector is not beneficial to society.

The net GDP comes out to nil or just a little more (after all, they're at most basically being paid their marginal product, so what's left over?), while not including several negative externalities of low-skilled immigration. The open borders advocates also assume the nation is a bunch of Einsteins doing crap jobs like picking trash etc., but that's not the real world. And what happens when the robot economy starts gaining traction, hmm?
Obama said libya (in wartime mind you) is a mess. They are also trying to compare these 2 "shit" words as meaning the same thing. lol

Bunch of "Tryhards"
Jesus Fucking Christ people can NOT read.
I said I want immigrants to assimilate and I want the existing population to assimilate to them. My argument is that if immigration rates are too high in one place the gathering of new 1st generation immigrants could form a community that becomes TOO insulated from the surrounding populace which means it could become too difficult for 2nd and 3rd generation children of immigrants to leave this insulated community, the very thing you and I WANT. The unfortunate downside of this is that more people in the existing population become more nationalistic and xenophobic which is BAD and how we get retards like Trump in office.
We both want the same thing. I want immigration where people come here, adapt to the existing culture within a generation or two, and they all become productive American citizens who can enjoy the bounty of freedom and happiness we all enjoy. One of my friends is a 2nd generation Cambodian immigrant. His parents and his wife's parents came here during the Pol Pot regime. Their story is incredible and I'm happy our country can provide opportunities for people fleeing oppressive regimes so they can build a better life for themselves and their family.
Some people argue that increasing immigration is the answer. I'm merely arguing that we should study what the point of critical mass is where immigrant communities become too large and insulated for their children to assimilate. If such a point exists, would decreasing immigration rates or providing incentives to not all congregate in the same city and neighborhood help prevent that?
But we can't have a grown up conversation on this subject, can we? In two sentences you went immediately to self righteous name calling and decried the very things I have also been arguing against.
Are there no thinking, mature adults left? Are we all knee jerk, tribalistic, social networking programmed automatons?
Don't agree with me? RACIST
Think a policy should change and have a thought out reason why? SEXIST
Agree with a movement's message but not their means? BIGOT
How many of you have ever called someone a name and it prompted them to change their mind, reconsider your argument and theirs, then change opinions? Or does it just make people more defensive and lead to more senseless headbutting with neither party willing to give ground?
Obama said libya (in wartime mind you) is a mess.
That's what they are trying to compare. They also are conveniently forgetting all the context as well behind the statements.
It's pretty disgusting watching the GOP wash any remaining hint of dignity they have and rally behind this shithole presidency. The GOP narrative is now moving from "do not recall" to outright "He didn't say it and Durbin has a history of lying".
https://www.dailywire.com/news/25817/dick-durbin-has-history-lying-about-private-white-ryan-saavedra
“In a ‘negotiation’ meeting with the president, one GOP House Leader told [President Barack Obama]: ‘I cannot even stand to look at you,’” Durbin wrote in a post on his Facebook page over the weekend.
However, both the White House and the House speaker’s office denied Durbin’s account of events.
Asked about the post in the White House daily briefing, press secretary Jay Carney said he checked with a participant of the meeting in question.
“I looked into this and spoke with somebody who was in that meeting and it did not happen,” Carney said.
Your example isn't exactly proof of a lie here stating that his account is disputed. Accounts are often disputed until more evidence comes out to solidify one side or the other.I was just pointing out that it isn't like Durbin has never lied about the events in a meeting before.
and God forbid if you introduce facts into the conversation...
Or when you take in to consideration the person posting it. Pc's a little Trump bitch.Your example isn't exactly proof of a lie here stating that his account is disputed. Accounts are often disputed until more evidence comes out to solidify one side or the other.
Also be wary that the logic you are trying to use here is that once someone is a liar he is always a liar. That logic quickly turns on itself when you consider the parties involved. By your logic, it should be no question that Durbin is telling the truth given Trump's history of intentional mistruths.
Your problem is Lindsay Graham confirmed what Durbin said.I was just pointing out that it isn't like Durbin has never lied about the events in a meeting before.
Speaking for myself I always stick to the facts. If I'm asked to refute a fact my answer isn't "oh you are just a stupid Trump supporter."The libtards are pretty good at staying in their lane on this board, and facts are not in that lane.
Your problem is Lindsay Graham confirmed what Durbin said.
I want to point out that it isn't like Trump has never lied about EVERYTHING before.I was just pointing out that it isn't like Durbin has never lied about the events in a meeting before.
Holy Mother F**king Bullshit! Do they hear themselves talk? Playing to his base? A base that thinks racist talk is ok? WTF is happening? The ONLY outcome from playing up to that is a divided country!!! God Dammit I despise Trump and his Administration! And WTF is wrong with his base! I'm so God damned frustrated and disheartened! The White House, suggested that the " people from shithole countries" comments, like Trump’s remarks about the NFL protests, will play well to his base. The only connection between Trump’s remarks about the NFL protests and his "shithole" comments is race.
Think about that. Take all the time you need.

"A White House official told CNN the President's "shithole" remark is being received much differently inside of the White House than it is outside. The official said that although this might enrage Washington, staffers predict the comment would resonate with Trump's base, similarly to how Trump's attacks on NFL players kneeling during the National Anthem did."

I know. It hurts my heart the way they talk in here. I lash out at them because of it even though I know it does no good. Having hate in their hearts is so natural to them they can't be made to see it.Also about 6-8 people here that think the same. Or they will just say nothing Trump has done is racist.
