So this one time I got yelled at

for getting mustard in the mayonnaise jar (using the same knife). But nobody yelled at my sister for getting mayonnaise in the mustard jar. My parents said it was okay. Why the double-standard? Why would they do this?

Discuss.

As long as nobody expects anything out of me. I hate doing work and trying at stuff.

Is the "knife", "mustard", and "mayonnaise" sexual innuendo for something too dirty to mention?

No, but let your imagination run wild. Pretend the knife is a giant cucumber, mustard is your neighbor's pet parrot, and mayonnaise is a big sweaty italian man.

You'd have to think wayyy dirtier than that.

Mayo doesn't have much flavor, and a small amount of mustard can change that. Mustard, on the other hand, has tons of flavor and a little mayo is noticeable.

You may be on to something. Still...it's the act of mixing condiments...not the end result. Parents don't know anything and should all die and let kids rule the world. Kids like me...even though I'm 21.

Well I for one would keep mustard in the cupboard and mayo in the fridge, so if I got mayo in the mustard it would result in must un-refridgerated nastyness.
Mustard in the mayo, on the other hand, causes no issue.

I guess mustard has a strong tangy taste that would "contaminate" the flavor of the mayonaise. Whereas mayonaise has a very mild flavor, that would blend in with mustard and be essentially unnoticeable.

I NOMINATE BLANCO NINO FOR PERMANENT BAN!!!!!
Not once have seen anything remotely intelligent....or even funny for that matter in any of his posts.

ok, if you really want to get back switch the salt and sugar in the jars. and leave the dirty mayo/mustard knife near it with a few strands of your sister's long hair in a very obvious location.

and watch the drama unfold. LOL
