From someone who actually have lived in both Cali and Fla, I can be unbiased.

California is great that its just a hop, skip and step away from skiing, beaches, gambling, etc...also no humidity but that fact thats its so damm expensive to live here....

Fla > Cali if you're middle class
Cali > Fla if you got money.

So I can't wait to move back to Fla.

Yeah, I liked enjoyed living in the "silly valley" back when I had an internship out there. I wasn't all that impressed with LA, enough, and your "ethnic diversity" comment puzzled me. The whole San Francisco area seems to be over 35% white, 20% asian, 20% hispanic, and less than 5% everything else. I swear... I see more Afro-Americans and Indians in rural Connecticut than I saw in Palo Alto or Mountain View at the time.

Two things that I didn't like about California are earthquakes and crummy pizza and cheese steaks. You guys really need to send some chefs over here to see the proper way to make that stuff!

LA is my home town so it has to be the first thing on the list.

are you white? with a sn like ultimatebob, your first name listed as dan, your residence as connecticut and the usage of the word "afro-america" im going to assume so. i think it feels nice to be in a place where you can see a lot of different kinds of people.

ya the pizza sucks, good pizzarias are hard to find same with cheese steaks. we get some damn good asian food tho.

that's not entirely true.

these days, we also have mexicans who moved here and started inbreeding like rabbits. ;)

both my grandparents on my mom's side are CA oakie transplants. my grandma read the grapes of wrath and said, "they had it easy."

$1,180,000 for .31 acres to build a little place to call home?! in San Marino

$39,900 for 56 beautiful wooded acres A nice place to build a place to call home, and be able to look out your window and see something other than the people on the next block or next door. Plus, the 4 seasons here are "spring, summer, fall, winter".... like we learned about when we were little kids. Cross country skiing in your backyard, put a fireplace in the family room, living room, and master bedroom, and you can cuddle up with the significant other in front of the fire, and have a lifetime supply of firewood...

Well, then again... you can do the same every year there... what's it called? Wildfire season?
