Bone spurs, extremely painful.
A few years agao i had gone rappelling and misjudged the distance I had left before impact. I came down rather hard on my left foot, with my knee pretty rigid. I heard something pop, and it creaked a little when I flexed my foot. I thought I had just jammed my ankle, wrong answer. Fast foprward to Monday:
2 days ago, on Monday morning, I woke up and just about screamed like a Nancy boy when I put my weight on my foot as I stepped out of bed. I hit the floor, white as a ghost. I used a makeshift cane to get to the bathroom, do the morning ritual and off to work, only to leave about 4 hours later in so much pain I had to literally use my desk chair as a wheel chair. I got home, and crawled on my hands and knees from my truck to inside my house, down the hall, and into the bedroom. After 4 hours of alternating Ice and moist heat, it felt better and the swelling had reduced from a grapefruit to a small orange. Last I left work again early, same deal.
Today I go to the Dr. have x-rays done, and they show the healed fracture, as well as bone spurs, and other calcium deposits in between my bones. Now I have another appointment with an orthopedist on Wednesday of next week. I had already spoken with him years ago regarding some heel pain before all this, and he mentioned surgery if I ever did develope spurs because they can cause me to walk funny and thus cause arthritis.
Why is my life never easy? Why do I have to have all the crazy crap?
