Get a bite to eat, watch 15 minutes of TV, go to sleep.

Tomorrow, rinse and repeat.

It takes you 2 hours to get there and 2.5 hours to get home? Either move closer or find a new job. 4.5 hours of your day * 5 days a week is a little over 13% of your life travelling to and from work.

Stop working while sleeping or you'll get fired.

Look forward to weekends.

Save for retirement.

30 minutes? Dang. My current commute is 40-60 minutes, and I don't think that it's all that bad. I've had jobs with commutes upwards of 2 hours, and that was starting to push it just a bit.

My drive to work is less than 5minutes. :)

Move somewhere that doesn't require like 5-6 hours of your life getting ready for work and traveling to/from work and it won't be so bad.

Thank you! Now when people ask me how I can live ALL THE WAY down in Dumfries (Prince William county) I can show them this and tell them that I:

Get up at 4:15
Get on I95 at 5:15
Arrive at work in Arlington at 5:40
Leave work at 2:00
Get home at 2:40

I feel so much better now!

you should have listened to everyone in the working world and STAYED IN SCHOOL.

they drill that in your head when you are a kid "be cool, stay in school".

Once I get better at what I do, I won't doubt it.

No kidding! What kind of job is it so that you're willing to waste 4.5 hours a day on travel? The only way I'd ever do that? if I could ride my bike to work all that time. I'd probably be riding over 200 miles a week at that rate, woohoo! :)
