I am an "intern" at a non-academic department at my university and have been here for three months. I generally work 2x 8's (though I have taken two days off in the past six weeks).

I think the last time I saw my boss (and therefore the last time I have *anything* to do) was sometime around early November. Getting paid for doing nothing is nice and all, but this is just plain weird. Note that I have not had *any* communication with my boss either, even after I left a message on her cell phone.

Yeah:(

Even weirder is there is one full time person under my boss who has been here only once or twice in that time, and HER boss (who I never have any contact with) has been gone just as much. I'm tempted to send a "wtf am I doing here" e-mail to her.

So how does one pass the time?

Sadly, in three months of being here, I have done *maybe* six hours of work. God only know what I can put on my resume when I leave here.

i worked for my school while i was there and in the summer, very little to do, so it was similar, i would do 1 of 4 things

1) Nef all day
2) watch cartoons on the computer Fam Guy/Futrama that were streaming on winamp at that time
3) play NES/SNES roms
4) work if there was any

Hmmm, let's see. You haven't seen your boss in a month and your screen name is SarcasticDwarf. I'd say Snow White simply got sick and tired of your attitude!

You could be working for my previous boss, but I doubt it heh. She started pulling this crap except that I had to do all of her work - I got her canned. Nice.

When I worked help desk for the library at my college, all I did was remote desktop to my dorm computer and listened to my music. I also used the time to do all my homework.

I would rather I had to do all her work than not have anything to do (incidentally, my last job was doing what she does and a bit more--so my skills are not being used as it is).
