So there is no "stop" button on a Zune?

Just got my Zune, so far I really like it, much more than iPod/iTunes. Only thing is I guess there is no actual square, 'stop' button, only pause?

I know it's not a big deal but for some reason it really bothers me.

Hold it down. Now it's stopped. Quite frankly, I'd be happy to never have a stop button on another piece of electronics again; too easy to accidentally hit it and have to start over (this is my biggest complaint about the PS3 as a Blu-ray player; accidentally hit stop, congratulations, 5 minutes to get back to where you were in the movie).

Nope, just pause, or hold down the pause button for a few seconds to shut her down.

my toshiba hd-a3 machine doesnt seem to have a resume or position-memory function.

stop a movie and you'll have to chapter-jump back to the right spot

My A3 resumes just fine .. what firmware are you using?


And I'm glad my Zune doesn't have a stop button, like others, I think it's a completely unneeded button.

Nope, I'm looking into installing 3rd party games at the moment. Supposedly you use XNA studio and there are quite a few out there for free.

i actually updated the firmware first thing i got it... maybe 2.0? it does not resume, neither from a stop (power on) or machine power-off.

gonna try 4.0 tonight

I miss stop buttons. And power buttons. I hate holding pause to turn off my ipod, it's almost like I don't really *believe* that it's off

I've never owned an iPod, and I've had iTunes installed on my computer at least 3 separate times due to friends and family wanting to put music on their iPods. I've personally used iPods from several generations and model families, including the nano, video and touch. I own a Zune. Given the ubiquity of the iPod in America, is it really so hard to fathom that the OP may have used one regardless of whether or not he's ever owned one?
