The CNN article had more detail about the appropriations. It think the federal government put in $36 million. Either way, they stated that the current museum on the carrier gets hundreds of thousands of visitors a year. So I can see the rationale for a $60 million overhaul.

oh well hope they put on an addition for that kind of money.

I went to see her when they had just opened the museum. It was really cool back then because it didn't look as stylized as it does today. Still one of the best museums around though!
