Sadly, living in Boston costs alot.....

Thats for sure, think we pay $1200 a month for a 2 bedroom apartment. Luckily it atleast includes electric and gas and stuff.

410 a month or just under 5,000 for a year, 4 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment with 3 roommates, unlimited use of utilities at no extra cost(which includes 54Mb/s uncapped bandwidth internet!).....Dang gotta love college apartments

then it's not even rent.....so it does not count.
 
$13,000 of rent a year. Now I trade that for $19,560 a year mortgage, taxes, and HOA payments. But I have a roommate, generates $6,600 a year, making the cost of owning about the same as renting.
 
We were paying 8,400 in rent. Then we purchased a home and now pay 14400/ year, 1300 or so goes towards our principal, and another 1000 back in tax deductions (estimate). So the difference is only about 4000 extra per year. utilities are roughly equal, but we have twice the space, 4x if you count the basement, and a garage, and a yard, and nice neighbors.
