So, the janitors at my old HS are useless

First off, so far this year, the janitors have not been doing their jobs well. My mothers classrom has only been swept three times this year by the janitor staff (they are supposed to do it every week). The whole building is very unclean. Recently, the staff has been noticing their lunches coming up missing from the teachers lounge. So, the schools librarian gets fed up one day with the teachers lounge being so nasty and the janitors not cleaning it that she decides to go in at a time when few people are in the lounge and mop it herself. She brings the mop, bucket, etc. from her house and is ready to go to work during her offtime to clean it up. She walks in and the janitor is sitting at the table, eating her (the librarians) lunch.

dont think so, since we get a new janitorial, lunchroom, office staff with every new principal and sometimes even new layers or principals with each new principal.

dont think so, since we get a new janitorial, lunchroom, office staff with every new principal and sometimes even new layers or principals with each new principal.

Where the hell do you go to school? I don't think that drastic of a turnover rate for employees is common with an administration change in high schools....

Mississippi, give you a hint, at my old highschool we had about 900 students and had 5 principals, not counting assistants.

No, administration is usually left in place. I take it that your high school isn't known for its job security?

I've never seen massive firings when the administration turns over. This is in Wisconsin public high schools. Job security was really high were I went to high school, at least from what I saw and know about the place (I worked summers there for a few years and have relatives who work there).

They dont fire you at my old highschool, they reengineer your function untill you either quit or transfer.

As for the Janitor, Good for you! He is getting paid less than a teacher, which is next to nothing. Except instead of not giving a rat's ass about how the kids are doing, like teachers, he actually has to clean up after the brats.
