As as you see the guy in the suit sitting in the nondescript family car with government plates in front of your home you start to go, "hmmmm". When he gets out as you pull up, you really go "hmmmm". The word "uh oh" also comes to mind.
At first I thought maybe it was a census worker or something.
"Hi, Im agent so-and-so. We are conducting a background investigation of your neighbor Mr. so-and-so, who is seeking security clearance. He has listed you as a reference. Could you help us verify some information?"
*shows identification*
"Sure, come on in."
"Thank you."
For a second I think "its a trap!" as I chuckle on the inside and almost start to laugh out loud because I rarely talk to the neighbor.
Thankfully it was as he described, pretty much a bland conversation. A friendly young man who asked a series of probing questions. But for awhile it makes you think about everything you say and do online. This visit was back in July, so I guess it wasnt a trap afterall. :sneaky:
But you never know who is waiting for you when you get home.
