So the Celtics have sold $2M in season tickets... on MONDAY alone

On Monday, you could still get 10-game ticket packages for the Garden.

On Tuesday, after the announcement, they quickly switched to half-seasons (20/21 games) and full seasons (41) only, with 10% down payment. :Q

By today, only full season ticket packages were available, with 20% down.

I get a couple games' worth of tickets every year to see my Celtics no matter how bad they are. For the first time in a looooong time, I was actually forced to buy season tickets while such a purchase was still possible. Add the C's to the list of Boston tickets that will not be attainable at face value anytime soon. The agent who sold me mine said they work on commission, and they sold $2M in season tix in one day... all the agents are going nuts, and he hasn't slept in 48 hours. 😀

Things are en fuego in my city right now... 😛

Too bad they still won't be as good as the top 5 or 6 teams in the West. 😛

haha, maybe top 3 teams, there are not 5 or 6 teams better than that.

Behind KG, Allen, and Pierce the Celtics have nobody. I would take San Antonio, Phoenix, Dallas, Houston, Utah, and probably Denver all ahead of Boston.

HOLY SH!T WTF?!?!?!!? KG IS IN THE CELTICS NOW?!?!

Don't they also have the slam dunk champ? That kid outta high school, Gerald Green? He's going to be a monster in a few years.

KG, Allen, Pierce, DAMN.

The Celtics traded Green, Jefferson, Gomes, Ratliff, Telfair and two picks for KG.

Meh, if he stayed it'd be hell probably.. remember when Malone, Payton, Shaq, Kobe were all on the same team? lol.

I'm excited to see the threesome, especially in nba2k8. 🙂 Looks like the Sixers will be the 9th team in the East this year. HAHA

As a slight update to this, the pair of season tix that cost me and a partner just over $2100 two days ago now costs just over $3000 according to Celtics.com. And the rows are further back. Amazing...

I wonder what the agents who sell these tickets do after the season has basically started/no more tickets left to sell? Is there commission that good they only have to work for a little while during the year?

Who do you really need in the playoffs? Most teams only play 7-8 players and the starters normally play ~40 minutes because of the long tv breaks.

Celtics will breeze through the East in the regular season and it will either be them, Cavs, or Bulls in the finals against either my Mavs, the Suns, or the Spurs.

I believe after the trade, the Celtics went from 90 to 1 odds to 9 to 1 to win the title.

Yup, I heard that too. I wonder how many people actually got in at 90:1 tho... some diehard Celtics-fan-slash-degenerate-gambler out there is weeping with joy 🙂

Houston, Utah, and Denver and not better than the Celtics. No way. Houston hasnt won anything and they have 2 very over rated stars. Utah is a good team, but not better than the C's. Denver with iverson and carmello might be.

But in the east, I only the bulls and cavs will compete with the Celtics. The cavs havent made any moves yet and the bulls dont need to. As long as Doc Rivers doesnt screw this up, the celtics have a great chance to go the finals.

I don't know how Yao Ming is overrated. When many predicted him to be a bust yet he's the best Center in the NBA. He was 3rd in PER (Player Efficiency Rating which statistics show is the best individual stat correlating to helping the team win) behind only Wade / Nowitzki and ahead of Duncan / Kobe.

Yeah, Yao is an EXCELLENT player, so long as he isn't hurt 😛

BTW, the C's are shallower than a kiddie pool. A deeper playoff team will wax these guys.
