Get the GTX.

Even SLI 320mb card will suffer degraded performance at high res. PLus, SLi has a whole slew of issues you dont want to have to deal with.

And I hope nVidia gets a huge trouncing from all over the industry for it too. I love their products but their greed is just gotten too much in last couple years. Even if the 8800 Ultra was twice as powerful as the 8800 GTX I wouldnt pay their price. nVidia really needs to rethink their ways of pricing.

There's another thing nVidia and ATI need to do. Instead of making cards bigger and better they need to work on making them smaller and better. The cards are outgrowing the case limitations. A good example is the G80 cards. Specifically the 8800GTX. Its a monster of a card in size and it wont fit in alot of cases. This isnt good for the consumer. The manufacturers need to start microsizing their products. Alot of other industries have done it and I think its time video card makers seriously consider doing the same.

theyre doing what intel do.

charge huge amounts of money for an "extreme" version of their hardware that in reality does not provide the same jump in speed as it does jump in price. they're simply cashing in on a fools and their money thats all. as long as theres people willing to pay, the prices will continue to go up

ill agree here, my experience with SLI, while a good one was abit  at times

i mean i had 2 7800GT's, plenty of power, but despite that it was like the highs were definately high, but the lows were low. i had the power, yet things sometimes just didnt seem "fluid"

i replaced them with a x1900xt and was much happier....

i think it is better to just buy the fastest single card you can rather than the same money on 2 slower cards
