Do the engines blow because you drove them hard or have done some kind of mod to them, or just due to wear and tear?

Mine had a rod knocking and I knew it was on it's last legs.

"I'll just drive it this one LAST time"


Turned out it WAS the last time!:eek:

N/A motors are pretty forgiving when they blow. You should see what happens to a forced induction engine. ;) (edited for the layman)

What pissed me off most was what it did to the transmission. The case is cracked, and I'm not sure if it damaged it inside. We'll take it out and have the case welded and the tranny inspected to see if it damaged it. I hope not.

We have 406 ci engine we were planning on putting together to go in the car, I guess this speeds along that process


I hear that :p. I am currently restoring a 1966 chevy nova ss with my dad and we have built a 327 for it. Hope it never blows but with my dad hotrodding it like John Force who knows:confused:
