Can Gilmour still sing?

Saw The Wall a few years ago, and yes he still can, but not as well. And not anything like the studio version...

Gilmour of Pink Floyd fame? If you saw the entire album of the Wall (the Pink Floyd version) it would have been Roger Waters. He was the one touring on it, and I believe he owns the rights as part of his breakup with the group.

I had a friend attend the Vegas concerts this weekend. For reference he's seen over 100 concerts of the world's top bands, including the 90's Guns.

Here's how it went down for him:

Saturday night was way better than Friday. The band was in top form. Axl sung his ass off and sounded fucking awesome....
I have NEVER been to a better concert. This was the best concert of my life........
On Saturday I upgraded to PIT tickets and was right in front of Slash for the whole concert. Slash was perfect as usual, I have never seen him this happy while he played. While he was soloing I was looking at Axl and he was watching Slash and you could notice he was appreciative of the fact of having the band back together again. Sebastian from Skid Row came out and did an amazing job with Axl for one song, he was amped beyond belief. Got to meet Eddie Trunk from "That Metal Show" and got a picture with the keyboardist from Guns n Roses. Also got a pic with Many Pacquiao's brother. Flew home and the band Tesla was on the flight. I talked with both Jeff Keith and Frank Hannon.

? David Gilmour touring the wall? That was Roger Waters and he never could sing 😉

LOL, damn old age... For whatever reasons Gilmour translated into Waters in my head...

Every time this thread gets bumped I figure someone is posting news that Axl killed a hooker and the tour's cancelled.

So far it's been AiC, hope it stays that way.

Oh, and those fuxkers, now they add a tour stop at the Dodgers stadium, and of course not before I purchased tickets for SD.

wait, AiC is opening up for GnR?!

I listen to a lot of loud ass bands, and the only band that's seriously made me question whether or not I should get ear plugs was AiC. dat grunge bass.

I frequently wear them, but I also go to see metal bands in small venues.

Well, I'm catching the last show of the tour, so it's either spectacular, or shit.

If the band hasn't broken up by then, the prediction for your $300 ticket:
.......Minimal effort will be given all-around as they'll be dogged tired & bored playing the same old songs.........Axl's voice will be shot and Slash's fingers will be rubbed raw from all the guitar playing forcing him to gingerly skip every other note.

Saw them last night in Cincinnati. Was disappointed that it was the first show that Alice In Chains wasn't at. BOOO. Opening band wasn't bad at all (Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown), but wasn't AIC who I was expecting.

That being said...GnR fucking rocked. I was skeptical at first. They looked OLD. Seriously, Axl looks like the walking dead (No Lies...he looks horrible) and Slash is starting to show the years. But they played their asses off. Show started right at 9:00PM and didn't finish until almost 12:30. There was maybe 5 total minutes of downtime in that entire 3:30 window. It was hot as shit last night and you could see the sweat pouring off them from the start. But those old bastards got out there and hustled.

It was a 20 song concert and came back and played 4 more songs for encore. Google the playlists and it was almost exactly as the first part of the tour. Sound was actually pretty damn good for being in a football stadium. Guitars came across very well. There were a few points where the vocals got really washed out. Later in the night. Not sure if Axl was getting fatigued or if the mix was just getting bad.

There were a few parts that Axl couldn't keep up with. You Could Be Mine...the fast rap part of the song he broke down into slower chunks and wasn't the same. But he nailed Mr. Brownstone at the beginning. Rocket queen was pretty sloppy. But Coma, Night Train, and Welcome to The Jungle (while at the Jungle, AKA Paul Brown Stadium) were great.

For 3+ hours of hard rocking G 'n F'n R it was worth the money. They definitely earned it.

Oh surprise guest - Mike Addler came on and did a few songs! Crowd went apeshit.

Saw them opening night in Detroit, and I agree...they didn't lose a thing 😀 AnC opened for them and they were great too.

Axl, while sounding top notch, is starting to look like Phillip Seymour Hoffman though

Also, did they fix those explosions during Live and Let Die? They tried to sync up explosions with the drums, and it ended up being out of sync and drowned out the song in Detroit.

3.5 hours goddamn.

Meanwhile tool is still dropping 1:40 sets with a 12 minute intermission

Guess I'm not selling my tix after all hahaha

A bunch of my friends went to the show here in Detroit and I was kicking myself since I didn't buy tickets thinking it'd be a shit show. They're hitting the stage early and playing late for every show - if they can keep that up, the fans are definitely getting their money's worth and then some.

Chris Stapleton is opening a few shows!? That's an...odd...pairing. I love the guy but AiC makes sense, him not so much.

Yeah, that's usually one of the first comments people make after seeing a show:

"He doesn't look like Fat Bastard anymore!"

Or something along those lines.

A good friend of ours is going to the Seattle show and we originally said no when she asked if we wanted tickets, but I am re-thinking that now after the positive reviews I've been reading/hearing. May try to find a pair for us. :hmm:

I was totally skeptical too. But having gone...so glad I did. They seriously put on a great a great show. I've done a lot of concerts...this one is up there pretty high. No bullshit or drama, they just came out and played their asses off for 3+ hours.

Slash has always been cool anyways, I'd have to ask someone a few questions.

Looks like he might have finally stuck his foot up Axels ass and woke him up over time, I still think he sings like a male Ethel Merman 🙂

He's making way more money than I am though, so I can't be too critical.
