ah i see. I guess I just need more case fans
That is not true either. You may have more case fans but you run into a few issues:
---Noise - More fans lead to more vibration, air turbulence, etc
---Cooling issues - You need to create a wind tunnel from front to back; i.e. a push-->pull method. An exhaust on top also works as hot air rises. Side Door Fans are pretty much useless. You do not want air to be going around in a big circle inside the case but you want it to
flow
Ideas:
---120 MM fans > 80 MM fans. Large fan diameter means that a fan may push the same amount of air while spinning slower and creating less noise.
---Clean up wiring clutter that traps hot air in pockets
---Clean up "dead zones" i.e. such as underneath power supply...a simple idea is to open one of the back end metal pieces on the case that you remove when you put a card in the pci slot. Air will naturally flow out as it will be cooler outside your case than inside.
Using the above is why people can run P4's/ X2's PASSIVELY in the Antec P180 (co-made with Silent Pc Review) with 2 -3 very slow spinning 120 MM fans.
so yeah. read up
www.silentpcreview.com is a great resource. And before you say " blah blah blah performance > noise "...Trust me, I said that 2 years ago and I am still paying for it
