Yet it seems to me the "vocal minority" (which I'm having difficulty believing is a minority) are not the only ones with the kind of posts to which you are referring. By the way, the silent do not have their voices heard and will not have their opinion honoured. I'm not sure what you're trying to prove with this whole "silent" business.

Im telling you tanks are meant to be powerful in c&c 3, they are not overpowered, those who think they are overpowered are a minority, those who get rushed and dont like it arent good at the game and should stick to playing with their friends. The silent are the casual players who play the game for its story and a good chunk of the time dont even venture onto multiplayer. EA made the game fun to play by making it like the original c&c, tank dominated.

I mean you don't seem to have used it much more than a few minutes, given by your attitude towards it. You are so far the only one to say that strategic zoom would have irrelevance in CnC. Everyone else who gave their opinion in their topic disagreed with you. Are you going to call us SupCom fanatics again and insinuate that we like the feature merely because it is in SupCom and ignore its usability?

I dont give a rats ass if everyone else disagrees with me, go and get all 140 odd thousand members of this forum to tell me im wrong ill stick to my guns. This isnt a c&c forum so i dont expect to find anyone who agrees with me. I suspect most people here including you tried online once, got crushed in less than a minute, and left.

I say again, strategic zoom would be useless in c&c 3. The game requires you to pay attention to your units and base, and ALWAYS be building things and doing something. Spacing out looking at the whole map in your strategic zoom mode isnt gonna help at all.

Then the silent casuals don't really play a role in the argument, do they?

And what's wrong with us sticking to our guns, I wonder? I don't care if you disagree with me, but when you talk to us like that, you're trying to make this debate personal.

We've discussed this. You keep bringing my thread off-topic, so unless you have tried out SupCom's new patch and have commentary on it, I will not be responding to any of your posts.

They are the most important as they are the largest group of players

Its because your wrong, and theres no "us" ive only been replying to you, noone else has ragged on c&c 3 with unfair and unjust points so far.

You brought it off topic originally by spouting crap about c&c 3 in the 3rd post in this topic. I do hope you dont reply, as i am fed up arguing with you. Its like talking to a parrot.

Funny thread :) Although I'm missing where Ichago called soviets mom fat... HA! JK! Don't freak out!

Anyhow, the patch works noticeably bumps up performance one my machine with a 7900GT. I'm now playing at high fidelity in the early portion of campaigns with comfortable framerates. Not sure what it will look like when things start scaling up tough.

I haven't played C&C3 so I'm automatically disqualified from any flaming, but I really enjoy supcom. I find I enjoy playing the cybrans the most and UEF the least. The tier2 cybran point defense is teh bets ev@r for putting a nix on early swarming and coupled with some gunships you've got a pretty good D setup up for teching.

The experimentals are a great touch. It's nice to have something truly mammoth to build up to, even if in most instances it can be more a waste of resources than a game winner. Some of them truly suck, but I find that I build them on occoision just for the challenge of making the most out of their usage. It's a hoot to be able to sneak a monkeylord into the back of a base (all stealthified) and watch a commander notice all too late. Run away! :D Great fun.

Oh yeah, do you happen to know what the command for the performance check is? I've been meaning to run that.

Without going off topic too much; I'll just say I also have to agree that I'm enjoying C&C3 much more than Sup Com on a game to game basis. But I have both games, so that's why I'll comment on the patch.

The latest patch increased performance by a long shot, that's for sure. But for some reason now I get stuttering in my games... which is a lot better than before which was a steady 15 fps or something, but for some reason or another my game will just lag for a good 10-15 seconds and then go on again. Online it just kinda warps or me and my opponent both lag.

None the less it was a welcome performance patch, although the T2 buffs make the game a bit different now. I remember when it first came out, T1 spam was the way to go... and then T3 was king for a while, and now back to T2 and some experimental ships, lol.

Sadly once C&C3's much needed 1.05 patch comes out, I'll probably be letting Sup Com get some dust for a while. Although I loved TA back in the day, I don't really feel Sup Com is a proper successor to it. I'm hoping the REAL Total Annihilation 2 will be better. (Even though Sup Com truly is the spiritual successor)
