I got a call from my CC saying they just rejected a cash advance for $3k. Also, that they had cancelled my CC and will be receiving a new one. Now, what else should I do? I checked my credit report and everything looks good and I got a 1 year monitoring service on it, just in case.

How does this work? How can someone ask for a cash advance using my CC? Don't they need my fullname, CC #, and expiration date?

Chances are some punk took your number while you were charging it somewhere. Your name is on your CC, so is the number, so is the expiration date.

Think McFly!

The charges were don in Wash, I'm in Texas. Had the charges been in Texas they I figured it would have been some punk kid.

I had a charge on my AMEX Blue come up a month ago for $151 from Sears Flowers (Teleflora)... The charge occurred in L.A.....go figure. The last time I used it was for a hotel in Atlanta, just days before this mysterious charge showed up. I guess identity theft is big business. My assumption is that the hotel chain ran my number through their system where it was accessed or harvested by a crook....then either sold or used by the guy. It just goes to show, you can't trust any business that takes your information.

I know what you're going through man. About a year ago I accessed a CC account online and a summary of a new card showed up with about $10k charged to it. Another CC showed up in the mail. The companies were great about not holding me responsible for the charges, closing the accounts and taking them off the credit report.

I've checked everything that I can think of and will probably do so every week for about 2 months. This blows!
