I didn't see this posted here at all so I hope its not a repeat. I know this store doesn't have the best rep but this seems like a decent deal. Then again, last time I ordered from them their shipping rates kind of sucked and Visiontek is dead so no warranty support. :( I guess its kind of a so-so deal. They have a GF4 4200 for $99 (a small link on the side of the page below).

That is tempting.

Between the Ti200 or getting the Radeon 8500 LE from Newegg for $72 shipped, is what I'm debating.
After shipping, the Ti200 would be about $5 less.

I always had great service with nVidia and Visiontek, but now Visiontek is gone.
ATI has been known to have had driver issues, but supposedly all solved? Plus they are still in business.
Speed wise, seems they both should overclock or run around GF3 Ti500 speeds.

It's for the Wife's PC (8k5a2 XP1600+@XP2000+), which had a 32 meg GF2 GTS modded to Quadro 2 Pro,
and the GTS was just sold for $50, so about $50 was my limit.

Any real advice without the nVidia Vs ATI fanboys jumping in?

I dont know much about the ATI Cards, but i have this exact Visiontek GeForce 3ti 200, I bought it a year ago for about double that amount, thanks to a good sale, rebate and our good friend the Blue card (RIP).

I love the card, never any issues, the driver support is top notch, plus you can download a few things to allow you to OC this board and get some more bang out of it, havnt done it yet, as I need to get my case cooling situation under control.

I would definately recommend the board, great deal for the $$.

I also had the Visiontek Ti200 from the Black Friday BB sale of 2001, but replaced it
with a Visiontek Ti500 in my system. Before getting a replacement for the wifes PC,
saw all the benchmarks saying how the 8500 LE runs close to my Ti500, and the 8500 LE
was priced less than Ti200's. Until this Tiger deal.

But the Tiger deal has 2 very, very bad points.
First, it's a Tiger Deal, which is a company all should avoid.
Second, it's a card from a defunct company.

ya tiger emailed me this deal last night. i also got this card a little over a year ago for $130 AR. the fan went bad, i replaced it with a $10 crystal orb, and i got it to run at 220/480. also i bought it because of the lifetime warranty, it says at the bottom of the tiger ad thats it now comes with a 1 year warranty.

I've got both. Performance difference is a wash. Picture quality and silence is better on the ATI 'LE.

BTW, performance is a wash because I overclocked the TI200 to TI500 speeds.

In the catalog they have the pny gf3 (not a ti) for 69.99. I didn't see it on their website.

Tigerdirect is not recommended. Infact I just got off phone from them, asked them to STOP sending me their catalogues every few days. I made a mistake of buying from them once and now I get spammed!

I have this exact card from Best Buy Black Friday sale over a yr ago. My fan looked like it was about to die about 2 weeks ago (moaning noises, could see how slow the fan was turning) so I greased it with WD-40 tonight and it seems fine now. Very unreliable fan, but pretty good card. Never got my $50 rebate from Visiontek though and I called them at least 6 times about it... damn them!!!

The Black friday card was actually the 128mb one. This one is the 64mb. I still have mine. I also got the last ti4200 black friday one for 74.99. (with 10% coupon).

Why everyone thinks Tiger is bad? (including me, but I don't know why....)

I bought stuff from them once, and didn't have a problem.... tho I got spam everyday since buying from them.

Actually, it was the 64mb card. Not a 128. Mine died about 3 months ago, and I purchased a PNY Ti4200 @ best buy. I had no idea that the Hartford Group was honoring warranties still. Glad I never threw it out, going to call on monday for an RMA.

He means GeForce3 card Best Buy deal from Thanksgiving 2001.

There is a known issue with a fan on them. I replaced mine three times before finally getting another fan....

Almost always... nah.... always try to find an alternative to TigerDirect. I've never seen a single TD deal thread without a flame war erupting over their bad reputation.

We are refering to the BB black Friday sale from 2001, not 2002, so his card died after 15 months.
The sale was the Visiontek Ti200 64meg priced at $99 after rebate. Took 4 months to get the rebate.

The fans on both my VT Ti200 and VT Ti500 quit as well.
But my old VT GF2 GTS fan is still going strong.

My Mistake, it is the 64mb. I was thinking of the ti4200. I've never had any problems with the fan or anything though. Ran it for a year exactly. I flashed it to a gainward gf3 bios right away so it thought it was a gainward gf3. Ran at stock gf3 speeds and seemed more stable than the visiontek bios.
