Real forums allow images in signatures and don't have restrictive limits. Maybe limits to keep it down to no more than 300 pixels high or so. People who easily get offended can just turn them off.

Actually, on and off, the discussion has been happening for years. In the past, we addressed obnoxiously long/annoying/distracting signatures individually. For years, it's been brought up to have a "set in stone limit," but in the past, we had always decided against it. In setting the limit, an overwhelming majority of members here already fall within these limits. -Admin DrPizza
