Has that Netscape Navigator Gold 3.01 feel to it. That's more than my folks can muster

You're going to redo someone's website for them because they won't be able to sell their services creating websites for other people because their own looks absolutely awful?

I'm going to contract her to make the website for my new startup.

I'll just mail her a couple printouts of Dell's website for an example of what I want for my new business.

To be fair, she offers her services fairly deep in the webpage. I would do it not to help her sale webpages, but because that monstrosity is embarrassing. I would probably conveniently forget to add the "contact me here so I can make a webpage for you" section.

How about you do this: congratulate her. She is an old, presumably retired, lady who is getting some kicks from a new hobby. Who are you to rain on her parade because it's not the best looking website around? She can write whatever she wants, share pictures of the grandkids, and is probably damn proud of herself - as she should be. So maybe just give her a pat on the back and offer suggestions if she asks. If some old person in my family took the initiative to do something like that I'd think it was just about the coolest thing ever.
