So say if my parents are Vegans

Will they disapprove of me being a butcher when I grow up? I saw some demonstration and I thought about going on with this career.

Being Vegan just means you can't eat meat, you can kill things all you want. I bet your parents have a huge box of bunnies they go outside and just smash with rocks every night.

Seriously though, if they're good parents, they'll simply disagree, if they're bad parents, they'll disapprove. Either way they're not gonna be happy. You're a big boy now, though, so do what makes you happy.

Well, they are very religious and doesn't seem to like seeing animal being slaughter. But I am a different person from them. SO how would you think they would feel?

A Vegan eats, wears, otherwise consumes nothing derived from animals, and are totally against cruelty.

So obviously they'd have a problem with a butcher.

I don't think you have a clue as to what you are talking about....and Vegans are crazy to begin with so the OP needs to be thankful he survived and has a shot at a normal life.

If that is what you want to do young man then you need to go for it. Your parents have no right to give you a hard time or they are hypocrites. It is the freedom of religion and beliefs in this country that allows them to be who they are so if they don't extend that to you because you have a different view then they need some introspection.

I don't see an issue with it to be honest. Don't flaunt it in their face and just say you enjoy doing it and it pays well, so why not? People will get their meat from one store or another, might as well have your cut in it.

Butcher is a career?

No. Mining, lumberjacking, fishing, farming, and cooking also fall into this non-career category. By definition, a career must involve sorting mountains of documents or their digital equivalents or handling other people's money.

1. an occupation or profession, esp. one requiring special training, followed as one's lifework: He sought a career as a lawyer.
2. a person's progress or general course of action through life or through a phase of life, as in some profession or undertaking: His career as a soldier ended with the armistice.
3. success in a profession, occupation, etc.

A vegan doesn't mean you hate cruelty to animals like PETA. My parents are so-called vegans for health reasons(We eat meat/dairy on weekends when we go out to eat), but neither of them are protesting in front of KFC. I still eat junk food, my parents just prefer to eat less fattening foods for meals. (They're both allergic to cheese, too, so that has some part in it)

So how could it not be a career? Your quote just proves that it can be.

Meat doesn't have to be fattening. Most vegans don't publicly protest anything yet still hate cruelty to animals. I hope to god your parents don't call themselves vegans.
