If they charge him a restocking fee for it, then I wouldn't be inclined to bitch as much. But still, it's terribly unethical to do that. My 960t had a difficult time getting to 4GHz, even though as a Thuban I had hoped it wouldn't, but I still kept it.

Downclock to 3.7-3.8GHz and overclock the NB. But since you've all but disappeared from this thread I'm going to guess you've returned it already.

your sig says 3.99, in my book it's a 4!

It was pretty finicky in getting there, though. I couldn't get it stable at 20x200, everything else stock, but 19.5x205 worked fine and dandy. 19x211 failed too. 19.5x205 is actually 3.98GHz, but like you said... close enough for me. I'm probably just going to leave it at 3.7GHz stock voltage since I don't notice any gains in the games I play.

This week I bought a AMD Phenom II X4 960T to replace my old AMD Athlon II X3 455 and I like it's performance. For me it's the first AMD cpu that had a Turbo. 🙂

Just installed a 960T to replace an older X3 as well.
The older X3 had the fourth core unlocked. The 960T shows 6 cores in my bios, however when I boot into ubuntu, only 5 cores are available. Not a big deal consider it cost me $118 after tax for the 960T and a gigabyte mobo.
Now to see how much I can oc this thing.
