So, Peter Parker is dead. Dead dead, not coming back dead.

Wouldn't it be less insane to interpret this as a business decision--you know, access a new audience--rather than some half-baked claims of political correctness?

Might be "less insane" but it'd be a wrong interpretation. Everyone knows what this horseshit is.

Wow, I stopped buying comics in 1998 for 2 reasons. 1. Too much money spent a week and 2. They just got stupid. Aunt may being dead for over a year and then it was all a plot by mysterio and they rebooted spiderman, again, it just got really lame. Same with DC and batman dying and all the blah blah blah. I just gave up.

That is soooooooo much more stupid than this ultimate spiderman thing.

Anime/manga is infinitely more interesting than comics that only focuses on the same old rehased superheroes.

I guess it's good that they're getting with the times. Hispanics will be the majority in 2025, get used to it and better learn Espanol. 😉

well, I'm sure we'll know as soon as Glenn Beck spouts off about it. 🙄

every other person in this alternate universe is not what they originally are--why so fucking offended now? it seems the only people that care never even read these comic books.

The REAL story here is that means Mary Jane Watson is on the market! WIN!!!

were you mad when in the Daredevil movie, they made the original big fat, white Kingpin a tall, fit menacing black dude? were you bitching PC for using a menacing black man as the villain when he never was black before?

i thought he was a great pick for kingpin.

I call it like I see it. It doesn't scare me the least bit. Here's a question: why not create a new superhero that's half black/half latino? Why "kill off" an iconic character just to remold him into something that is clearly pandering? Also, have you read the creators comments on why he's doing this? He clearly states he wants spiderman to have a more "diverse" background. why? why is it that special?

The problem with you and other racists on this site/thread is there really is no way you can complain about this and come off as anything but. You, and others, are literally complaining because the new Spider-Man is black/Hispanic. First of all, remember this is an alternate universe. The real Spider-Man is still alive, and white, so you can stop sweating.

Second, you wouldn't have cared if they killed Spider-Man and replaced him with a white guy but because he's a minority, you are saying they are overstepping some sort of political correctness line. You'd be right if they fired the partner CPA's in your firm and replaced them all with hispanics, specifically because of afirmative action. That's a good complaint. But this is a fictional character and in this alternative universe, the hero died. He wasn't fired. Then the new Spider-Man happens to be black/hispanic.

I think you're confusing outrage at killing a favorite comic hero with racism. This is clearly a case of the former:
I won't if rather than being a photographer, he cuts people's lawns.

well, there was so much failure in that movie, it really didn't matter. The thing is, I didn't see the need to replace the image of kingpin, but it made no difference in the end b/c everyhting was so wrong about it, heh.

the funny thing, this move is a closer reflection of reality. the fools are getting snippy over a black/hispanic from Brooklyn.
😀

lol: wake the hell up and stop being afraid of shit you clearly don't understand.

Jesus christ you are stupid. THIS IS AN ALTERNATIVE UNIVERSE!

haha, no one reads anymore. Not sure if it's simple trolling, or legit rage aimed at a topic for which they see one rather intentional sensation-generating headline and fail to investigate the details.

Their racial resentment is so strong that it prevents them from actually trying to understand the situation.
