So, Peter Parker is dead. Dead dead, not coming back dead.

holy fuck people--this is not an issue of PC. it's not even the real damn spiderman.

the real spiderman is alive and kicking. it's a sub-set of comic books that no one reads, apparently.

it's about tapping into newer audiences. I know this scares some of you people, but the younger generations are more and more diverse than some of your antiquated beliefs and policies would have preferred them to be.

I call it like I see it. It doesn't scare me the least bit. Here's a question: why not create a new superhero that's half black/half latino? Why "kill off" an iconic character just to remold him into something that is clearly pandering? Also, have you read the creators comments on why he's doing this? He clearly states he wants spiderman to have a more "diverse" background. why? why is it that special?

All you offended idiots don't know shit about spiderman or ultimate spiderman. Ultimate spiderman is in an alternative "Ultimate" universe and has no bearing on the 'official' marvel universe. Nick Fury is black, Colossus is gay, and when characters die, they stay dead.

because he is from that diverse background, and he sees more and more of his audience as part of that background.

holy fucking hell, did you read the next two sentences?

he explained his reasons for you.

seriously folks--it doesn't fucking matter. no one is trying to ruin your precious WASP lifestyle and marry your daughters.

and it's not even the REAL SPIDERMAN.

it's an alternate reality that represents, probably, 5 or 10% of the Spiderman readership. wtf get over it.

were you out bitching when spiderman had a black costume for several years?

were you mad when in the Daredevil movie, they made the original big fat, white Kingpin a tall, fit menacing black dude? were you bitching PC for using a menacing black man as the villain when he never was black before?

Yes, but in defense of the Kingpin being black for the daredevil movie, when the Kingpin was first conceived back in the 60s-70s the mob had a large presence in America, when the Daredevil movie came out we had a lot of things change between the 60s and early 2000s and a lot of crimebosses that arose out of that time were black.

I'm pretty sure that the DareDevil movie was maligned for many reasons, the above being only a small part of them. :p

no, no, you don't get it neckbeard.

This is clearly an opportunity to remind us all how evil progressive libruls are ruining Americuh!

it simply doesn't matter how irrelevant this story is in the world of comics (I haven't touched the things in 20 years, and I understand what you guys are talking about)
