Being in cosmetology school I like to experiment at home with hair color and what not. I thought in the spirit of Easter I would add a little purple in my hair. I dispense the color in my mixing bowl and apply it to my hair with my applicator brush. Once I finished the application, I rinsed my brush and bowl and waited the 20-30 minute processing time to finish.
Once the suggested time was up, I hopped in the shower to rinse as I have done with any other color application in the past. Since the hubby and I always shower together he came in to see if I was ready for him to hop in. Once he opened up the curtain and the light shined in, I noticed what appeared to be purple water running down my body was not water at all. Infact, my skin stained from the color rinsing out. I hopped out of the shower and looked at myself in the mirror. My face was completely stained purple as well as the rest of my body.
While I was stuck in the bathroom freaking the fuck out, my wonderful husband managed to finally stop laughing (at least in front of me, I am sure he was laughing as he was scouring the house) and find stuff to remove the purple stain. After trying peroxide and a few other tricks he opened up the laundry room doors and grabs the Oxy-Clean, grabs a bucket, pours a scoopful of Oxy-Clean and filled the bucket with water mixed with Oxy-Clean. He tested it on my hands to see if it would work. It did! Alas, after scrubbing my entire body with Oxy-Clean I am back to my normal coloring and my horrible Willy Wonka nightmare is over.
Cliffs:
Colored Hair Purple
Skin got stained purple
Awesome Hubby + Oxy-Clean save the day
