So, one of my profs rescheduled our final exam.

I don't see what the problem is. It would be nice to have one exam out of the way while you are dealing with the rest. If that rule is in place, what else are you going to be so busy with? man up

Maybe you're a bit slow, so you didn't catch on, I've got final projects and papers all due this week.

I'm not sure I am the one who is slow. You had two weeks notice and you are worrying about this the day before. Oh, it must be because you are so busy with all your difficult and time consuming work :(

Actually, 1 weeks notice, our exam was originally scheduled for a week from now and I have been researching the issue on and off for a week but it was only last night that I found the statute in the school policy and a professor clarified this issue for me.

Looks like there's a bunch of old people who read the forums here who've forgotten what it's like to go to college and work. Most seem to be in agreement that you should just respect any instructor's desire to walk all over you, or whatever it is they please, just like Penn State.

Soooo, ... you're equating getting an exam date changed to GETTING RAPED IN THE ASS BY A PEDOPHILE?

You would've been better off sending an email to your adviser about the situation and using the time you spent "researching" to study for the exam.

Students are so damn whiney nowadays. If you bitch now, I can just imagine how hard the real world is going to be for you. I certainly wouldn't want you for a coworker/employee.

Yes, god forbid he follows the rules. Go tell your boss you'll ignore his rules that don't affect him, see how that holds up.

When I went to school teachers/professors could do pretty much anything they wanted. We groaned a bit, but at the end of the day we sucked it up and got on with our lives. The pussification of this world is in full gear.

No they couldn't. I'm sure you already know this, but teachers and professors have certain rules that they have to abide by as well. This also has nothing to do with "pussification".

nothing. so he didn't want to come back and look like a fool.

I do though agree with the OP. there is a reason the finals are scheduled when they are. having it changed a week prior is bullshit.

I don't know what the deal is...I went to two different colleges and never had trouble with finals. Hell, I loved it when finals were given during regular class time, as it freed my time up during finals week.

Yes drebo, but the OP is special, he works and has other classes unlike every other college student in the world.

Did they change it a week or two before the final? I have had the proff change the final tome to last day of class a few times. BUT we were always notified a long time before. I agree its great! it gave me more of a break!

I had a professor change a final on the last day of class so he could take off a week early, announced it at the very first moment of class. I was 2 mins late and missed the announcement, and therefore missed the final. :/

Worked out for me - the prof couldn't figure out why I missed the test when I was an A student on every other test in every other class I'd taken from him, so he submitted my grades with an A.
