NO no no. yuck! The Guafensin will make you feel like CRAP! It won't hurt you, it just makes you feel REALLY crappy if you take more than a gram of it. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS use the kind that ONLY has the DXM in it.

It doesn't have APAP in it which is what he was concerned about.

I'm serious. It affects different people differently though. Also I drank about 1.3 bottles of Robitussin Maximum Strength Cough Suppressant. It has 15mg DXM per 5mL. That means I took more DXM than you. (twice as much about.) If you want to know more this is the best web site to read about DXM.
