What ever happened to this act. You know the one that says we can't use the military for domestic control.

Those were rules from the US democracy. A fondly remembered historical period.

I doubt anyone will be enforcing them in the current Authoritarian government.

If someone in the chain of command complains. They will be replaced.

Yes - laws are irrelevant here. The issue with Trump is not that we lack laws that ban a lot of his actions, it's that he's ignoring them and Congress won't do anything about it.

This is not a struggle about laws anymore, or at least not primarily. This is political and will be an increasingly force based struggle.

I was asking one of my friends if he was getting out of the US (He's been living there for 20 years). He's waiting for midterms to see if there is reversal.

I mentioned to him that this much damage has been done in 100 days, and midterms are 500+ days away. Not only that but they are already ignoring congress and judges...

Maybe if he doesn't say "about" too loud he'll be OK...

Yeah I'm not sure what he thinks the midterms are going to do. He's already ignoring laws passed by Congress! What, are they going to pass some that say 'this time I really mean it'? That all assumes the elections will be free and fair anyways which is quite an assumption.

I guess they could investigate him more and that's something. They could even impeach him a bunch of times but it's never going to lead to conviction in the Senate. All possible scenarios involving Congress rely on Republicans deciding to remove Trump and that seems very unlikely.

It could become necessary.

Sucessful revolutions don't go for the top guy right away. They start with underlings, so underlings feel under assault.

Look at the French Revolution.. it didn't start with the royals.. it started with the storming of the bastille.

Decent human being was willing to help immigrants with legal advice so he talked to them, then gets visit from unidentified government thugs for "impeding their investigation, loses job for talking about it:

By this logic I'm pretty sure being a defense attorney is a crime.

I don't think he even said that. The Project 2025 people are behind it. There's nobody Trump appointed who could write that (I doubt very much that Trump read it). It's the entrenched oligarchy behind the scenes.
The issue is that even Project 2025 is absolutely destroyed now. Is turning into Russia 2025
