I'm not joking when I say Elon Musk. He's been dogwhistling those types of assholes for awhile now. Once the Cybertruck wins over the rolling coal dumbshits, and they literally buy into his off the grid options (solar panels, satellite internet) they'll swear fealty to him and join the other Tesla cultists. He's everything they like about Turmp plus everything they thought about Turmp that wasn't true (that he was a self-made billionaire, a shrewd business mastermind, that he was smart, etc).

Sure, Musk isn't natural born, but give it a 5-10 years and I bet he'll be popular enough that it won't take much to get that requirement removed.
5-10 years and he might just buy the US.

People like Cruz and Hawley weren't worried about dying.

If the Mob broke through, they would have told the Mob they were on their side, and asked if they needed help stringing up the others.

Particularly chilling because I can see it happening.

It's like they've been breeding violent attack dogs for decades, training them to be vicious killers, and then suddenly decided dogfighting is bad when their hand gets bit.
Best to keep in mind that their ilk have been buying up all of the guns and ammo.

I think conservatives may be on the verge of losing yet another culture war.

"Let it be known to the business world: Hire any of Trump’s fellow fabulists above, and Forbes will assume that everything your company or firm talks about is a lie. We’re going to scrutinize, double-check, investigate with the same skepticism we’d approach a Trump tweet. Want to ensure the world’s biggest business media brand approaches you as a potential funnel of disinformation? Then hire away."

Need reminding of how this all started ??? Remember in the beginning EVERYONE of the republican establishment was highly against Donald Trump's candidacy. Lindsey Graham had said that Donald Trump "would never be elected president", and so said Ted Cruz, and so said Mitch McConnell, they all said this. It was not until Donald Trump allowed a list to be created, a US Supreme Court nominee list who's names Donald Trump pledged to nominate, when everything then changed. The republican establishment fell in love with candidate Donald Trump. I believe it was the extreme right wing group Heritage Society that actually created that list for a president Donald Trump to nominate from. So what you had was... establishment republicans welcoming Donald Trump with open arms, and dealing with the devil. The devil said to Mitch McConnell, YOU WELCOME ME IN AND IN TURN I WILL PROMISE TO FOLLOW YOUR LIST. And we all know what happened after THAT. And.... we all know never to do business with the devil. And yet, the republicans did and thus here we are today. The devil is simply collecting on his contract that he made with the republican establishment. And stupid republicans... they actually believed they could do business with the devil with no payment due date. Well, those payments have been coming and coming with the largest payment thus far paid just last week. God only knows what payments are still due for the devil to collect.

Society is almost always changing and becoming more "open", "liberal", whatever you want to call it.

Conservatism always does this. It attempts to work from within by adhering to the law. Then my writing the law to favor conservative policy. But as societies continue changing regardless, ultimately, it can only retain its hold and power through violence.

How violent it can be depends on the society it's situated in. In the "third world countries" where the State isn't as strong, you get warlords and terrorism. In "first world countries" with a Strong state, you typically get right-wing parties that veer ever more rightward until they openly embrace violence to "maintain" their privilege, which they label "freedom".

The Arizona Republican Party is preparing to censure Cindy McCain for supporting Biden, opposing Trump, being for marriage equality and objecting to Trumps attacks on her dead husband among other things.

And the ratfuckers get the year wrong in the resolution.

Do they think disparaging a widow and taking more digs at her dead husband will score them more points in the next election?

Another sad example of how depraved Republican "values" have become.

Being censured by these scumbags is a badge of honor. Not sure why any decent person would want to be affiliated with them.

Are there any decent humans left in the GOP?
