So, no AWD on 5 series or M?

BMW has AWD on their 3 series, but not on M or 5 series. Why the heck not? AWD kicks ass.. lets you go fast even when it's wet or icy outside ;)

AWD also adds weight and changes the handling characteristics.

It wouldn't quite be an M series if it were AWD.

I can, however, see AWD 5-series being a good thing.

But don't f*** with perfection.

with powerful cars, AWD just means that all 4 wheels spin when its wet or icy, not just 2. :)

M5 has DSE, each brake and wheel is adjusted automatecally when its enabled, it doesnt need AWD...
