interesting story. my sister recently quit her job because her boss, also a vice president (who seems to be efficient at getting the job done but is unfortunately horrible with her interpersonal skills), was psycholgically and verbally abusive but also THREW AN OPEN CAN OF SODA at my sister. the next day, she gave her two weeks.

apparently, this vice president has had a total of FORTY assistants in the past 5 years -- they all seem to quit because of this woman, but apparently this particular senior employee is not expendable. i don't get it. 😕

You're in sales/finance. Very few people have the same Type A personalities that it takes to succeed in that field. In my experience, you're either born with that attitude or you're not.

nope guess again...bulk loan sales are not about that.

I am assuming there are lawsuits pending, 40 people can't all be sheep.

If they don't care, LAWSUIT!

My company Genreal Dynamics, Electric Boat division walked out a VP over indecency issues.

No one gets specuial power anywhere. if they do, sue.

she's had enough of her boss who is verbally and psychologically abusive. Her boss (female) literally screams and yells in staff meetings.

currently, my wife and i take turns being off of work to take care of our daughter when she's sick. she was off Monday, I was off Tuesday.. i'm off this morning and she will be off this afternoon. just so we can get SOME work done. her boss doesn't have kids and never will, so she doesn't undestand that we can't just drop our daughter off at daycare to get all the other kids sick.

Her boss is the subject of many fights in our house - she has WAY too much impact on our personal life.

we were planning on her quitting in April 06 when our 2nd kid was born anyway, but we just weren't financially ready yet. oh well, we'll have to tighten our belts a bit (no more FS/FT for me!!)

I simply cannot stand this lady. I have alot of things I want to say to her - even though it's not professional, I really really want to send her a letter and CC: HR dept with exactly how i feel about her and what she's done to her employees.

The whole department is in fear of this lady - several of the employees come out of meetings crying (including a retired female USAF colonel) because of the tantrums she throws in meetings.

When I spoke with the dispute resolution dept, I told them I was going to file a hostile workplace lawsuit if she continued to berate her employees. I just might. but, i would need corroboration from the other EEs. I know they are afraid to come forward.

anyway, i told her to screw the 2-weeks notice and walk out. She said no, it wasn't fair to her project team, which i understand.

If you sue and no one else is on board, those people can be suppenad (sp?) to testify.

Co workers problem are the number 1 reason for quitting and is 25% higher of a reason when compare to wages dissatisfaction.

Your wife should file a complaint to the company HR department and follow through with a law suit if your wife wants to do some good for her company & peers. Because, it will tell the company to be more conscious regarding their worker well being, and remove the people that costs them money and good workers.
