... AND BOY IS IT GREAT! This ink looks IDENTICAL to the canon brand. I was very skeptical about many 3rd party inks, cause I have seen cartridges as low as 1.59 a piece for one cartridge, when the canon brand is almost 12 a piece. So I did some research and I found a site inksell.com and heard some good stuff about it.

The one thing I liked on the site as well is that it had personal reviews kinda like newegg does for its products. So I went ahead and purchased some of their ink for my printer, for a total of 4 cartridges - 1 cyan, 1 magenta, 1 yellow, and 1 black. Each one was about $6.50, which is not nearly as cheap as I found some of the others, but its still about half priced than canon brand.

And when I tried this out, I must say I am very impressed with the quality. And I'm not talkin about every day printing. I am printing out some dvd covers at very high resolution ... 3240 x 2175 @300 dpi to be exact. These prints are coming out identical to the canon ink that I had. I however have not tried printing a 4x6 photo with this ink yet because I am out of the 4x6 photo paper.

So a big thumbs up to www.inksell.com ... and here is a pic of the covers I printed with the new ink mixed in with the ones I printed with the canon brand ... can't tell a difference can ya!

There are a few websites you can get them from, especially dvdcoverart.com. However from there you have to pay like $11 for 100 covers or somethin like that. Also, on efnet in the channel #dvdcovershq there is a HUGE archive of covers, most of them in hires and being over about 4Mb in size. This is so much fun :)

I used to print of cd album covers. I got mine at cdcovers.cc.
I just checked out their dvd collection, not quite the resolution you're talking about but they would work.

Cool thanks for the info.

Although I wonder if in the long run the ink will clot the print heads?
