So I was bored, cant sleep, so I decided to shoot an email to the DJ at the radio station here in Dallas at KDGE, Bret -X, and requested a song from MXPX, he emails me back asking me what I am up to, I reply, and so far we have emailed 4 times back and forth...... kinda cool at late night.

It's more fun when you're carrying on an AIM conversation with a DJ that's on the air :p

Somehow I think the whole Clear Channel, Inc. concept of canned music in a "top-15" style rotation has nearly eliminated the idea of actually requesting music to be played on the radio.

true, the sad thing here is, they play alot of the older stuff like soundgarden, pearl jam, metallica a little to much for my taste.

We used to do that at ADF when we had our our shoutcast station. We'd have IM, forum posts, listener call-ins, and guest DJs. It was a fvcking riot.

I miss those days.
