The paying is only beginning.

Your story makes no sense.

There is either something you left out, something the daughter didn't tell you, or the father is incoherent.

Reading between the lines, there is some aspect of this arrangement that you think has relevance to the father being in debt, which you haven't told us about.

This is the whole story. The father is incoherent, and maybe the debt statement was a cheap shot. I just find it ironic how he has criticism for me because I live within my means, which isn't cheap at all actually by a college student's standards.

That you have a high-school tough guy approach to your girlfriends father indicates your egocentrism and lack of respect for her. At least that's the way you present it. If you're so morally superior, why 'call him out'?

Good job tough guy, you certainly won this round.

I think it's a bad idea for anyone's girlfriend to move in with them. Always seems to kill the relationship

Indeed I will.

Glaze her like a donut, and send him pics of his sweet little buk**ke princess. That'll learn him. ;)

Lack of respect for my GF? Her parents are the ones that have been controlling her all of her life, and couldn't stand it when I would take her out and we'd be together. It's been more 3 years of putting up with the same BS from them. She hates it and I hate it, but I put up with it because I really do love her. We already tried to discuss it with them in a civil manner and they ignored the situation. I took them out to dinner to discuss it and they weren't hearing it.

That was a year ago, and it's time for them to let go of her, if that's what she really wants.

So you say I won the round though? Great, I do what it takes to get the job done. ;)

You're with the girlfriend not the parents. If they don't like it, fsck 'em (FIGURATIVELY, NOT LITERALLY, unless you really want to). My ex's mom hated me and wished for my death constantly. She does the same thing with her hubby now lol.
