So my GF's dad finally said what he thinks of me

So my GF wants to get an apartment and move in with me. I'm was going to pay the rent and she's going to pay utilities. She was telling her dad about it.

The man with more than $100k worth of debt (not including mortgage) said that I'm "just a cheap motherfvcker trying to catch a free ride".

This is the same dad that was advising her to finance a new car while she's in school on a 15 hour a week job with no down payment. I'm glad she takes my financial advice more seriously.

Oh well.

EDIT: mwahahha He called her and threw a big sh!tfit now that he found out she told me. I IM'ed him to see if he wanted explain himself, and that I hold no grudges, but he won't respond.

Actually now that I think about it. A "free ride" is kind of what you ARE getting. She's not charging you for the POON is she? ;)

He may be a loser, but he's still her father, maybe you should show respect anyway.

If you don't not only will you be petty but the g/f will use it against you in the future, no matter how much she might seem to agree with you now. You never slander the g/f's parents....I don't care if it's the Manson family. Not if you enjoy being with your g/f that is.

How am I not showing respect? We've been together more than 3 years and we have decided to live together.

Oh no, well she obviously cares for you if she wants to live together. Unfortunately, he is still her dad and you'll just have to try to be polite. Maybe he'll break down after a while if he sees you taking good care of his daughter.

You don't know how lucky you are to be moving in with the person you care about. Good Luck!
