i'm going to S. Korea, to visit my gf.....and my gf's friend is booking a hotel for us, and she said that she needed my passport number. wtf...

I have no idea why you need a passport number to book hotel....do we have any ideas here?
 
umm its totally normal to need a passport number to book a foreign hotel
here you use some kind of id right? do you have korean id? yea thats right

You need a passport to book any hotel in a foreign country. You probably don't need the passport number to make the reservation but you will need it for check-in.

I am imagining they are booking a hotel to get some nookie. He better trust her or he isnt going to get any 😛
 
no no, its her friend that is asking for it. no, i'm not scared or anything..just kind of curious...but I guess if it is required, then it's required...it's cool w/ me.
 
Yeah its required in foreign hotels... when we went to Europe at every hotel we stayed at we needed to give them our passports so they could fill out guest forms.
 
you usually need the passport when you get there, not to reserve... i have never need the passport to reserve before travel... and her friend asking for it.. humm i dont know about that one.

Me thinks you met this *girl* online. If thats the case, you better have some proof that she is for real. For all you know it could be some big fat korean guy wanting to immigrate into the US.
 
Pic's are unimportant but passports are needed sometime to book holtels. If you don't trust her I believe they still allow you to book the hotel and show passport on arival.
