So my credit union doesn't have a branch anywhere near where I'm attending college.

Is there anyway to deposit money into my account while I'm in college or am I SOL?

Check to see if they are part of a credit union network. If so you can use any other credit union in that network without fees.

Yes, you can use nearly any other credit union that is in the same network. Sometimes, depending on the school, there is one right on campus, that is the case with me.

At my CU, *ANYONE* can walk in, give the member number, and make a deposit. But when the ID doesn't match the account, they just don't print any identifying details on the reciept. All you get is "$$$ avilable on mm/dd/yyyy" - the balances aren't printed, account numbers aren't printed, NAMES aren't even printed.

My dad does most of my deposits for me, since he works like right across the street from the place.

Getting money back out is an entirely different manner. Nobody can do that in person except the accountholder. But then, that's what checks and check cards and online banking are for.

See the back of your CU ATM card. If it has the CO-OP network symbol with two circles on it. It means your CU is part of the CO-OP network. You can use any CU that's part of the CO-OP network do to your transactions with.
