Irvine has designated offroad bike trails and guess what! There is a bike trail that is pretty much a beeline to my place of employment cutting my commute to only 5 miles. Weather is in the 60s at around 7-8AM so I hope I don't sweat too much in the morning.

I've started biking in Irvine quite a bit recently and it's great almost all the time (as long as you stay away from busy intersections). There are lots of bike paths and bike lanes, and the weather is almost always superb.

plus, when you have a motorized bike, you're also entitled to ride and park wherever the hell you please ;)

I'd love it if we had that here... I'd ride my bike to work if it weren't for the highways.

Thanks! the average temperature in Irvine in July is around 60 degrees at 7-8AM so i will be feeling the coolbreeze and waving back. The highs do get up to the upper 70s and lower 80s in the afternoon, but with low humidity and the breeze, it should still be enjoyable. :)

If I didn't go home at lunch to let my dog out, I'd be walking and running to work a lot more frequently. I'm hoping my wife will be able to help out if we can get a decent schedule soon.

Sounds good. I've been biking to work for 2 weeks now. No problems at all. My commute is only 4 miles though.

Don't worry the soreness will go away after week 1.

The fruitcake factor just went up a couple notches.
