So my buddy (EDIT: AND I) will be going to the wax salon.

Oh, BTW- I had surgery in that area a few years back, and it itches and burns like CRAZY after about a week. You'll either have to keep it up or deal with 1000's of needles poking you with every move for 3-5 days.

done.

Just tell him to do it himself. It's not that hard and he will save a lot of money. A combinaton of nair, tweezers, and a razor will work fine.

at a GOOD salon/spa around 100$. most won't do men so the ones that do can charge what they want. Don't skimp on going to a cheap spa though. you WILL regret it.

At least a couple of weeks worth of public ridicule on an internet forum filled with faceless posters, I would imagine. 😉

believe it or not, this is becoming VERY common for a lot of men (both straight and gay) to get this done. The salon i go to is pretty strict with what they will do for a man, but for any price, it can be done. That does not make one gay though. and i am SURE his new bride will love it.

Had he gone alone and not discussed it with his friend... I agree this does not make one gay. However by the act of discussing it with said friend and traveling TOGETHER to the salon... that act in itself makes one gay regardless on the treatment received at the salon.

Good, but there was a reason I chose that exact phrasing 😉.

What EXACTLY do they wax on males? I would have thought it would just be the... shrubbery around the base of the tree, and not the coinpurse or anywhere else.

dude....just go get a pair of clippers/beard trimmer if you don't already have one and take it as close as that will go. I can't imagine the extra bit waxing takes off or having it take longer to grow in is worth it.

Usually legs and chest, and sometimes the holy trinity of back, sack & crack.

Only your manhood.

Luckily you don't appear to be using it anyway.

What is the point of waxing? It seems excessive to me. Maybe for a special date or something. It's only going to last marginally longer than if you use an electric bodygroom razor or similar.

Thats what i was thinking as well. Might as well get them lasered so they don;t coem back at all.

Go buy a trimmer and razor (and wax if you really feel the need) and do it yourself. Just be careful.

There is no reason to go to a salon and have someone messing around down there. NO reason.

you CAN NOT compare shaving to waxing at all. especially in that region. There is such a difference it is amazing.
it is nowhere near the same feeling.

Dude I've trimmed before, this has become so much more then that now, now its serious. I'm doing some looking and I'm not even seeing any wax salons around me. Hrm, I'll have to do some more lookin, but maybe buying a little home wax kit is the way to go.

An electric razor will not get as close as a manual razor. A manual razor only cuts the tops off the hair follicles, and leaves stubble. Wax lifts the hair follicles out from the root (and probably the top layer of dead skin) so not only do they take much longer to grow back, but there's no sharp stubble, and a much smoother effect.
