So, my Atrix 2 has a micro HDMI port. Why?

What exactly would I use this for? Connecting my phone to my TV? Please, users of this connectivity, enlighten me. TIA.

Just think.

Atrix 2 + OnLive App + OnLive controller + TV = Micro HDMI cable = CONSOLE GAMING WHEREVER YOU ARE!!!

I only use mine as a stand alone game console. No service. I suppose with Wifi and the Netflix app I could watch movies on my TV, but I already have a much cheaper Logitech Revue for that purpose, and it runs Honeycomb.

Same as with tablets that have HDMI out. Hook it up to your tv and try the following:

- Watch HD Netflix
- Stream movies and tv from your home computer using VLC Direct Pro
- Connect Wiimotes to your phone and play emulators with back up roms of games you own.
- Bluetooth keyboard surf web on the big screen
- Video chat?
- Listen to DI.fm streams on your tv's sound system

doesn't the atrix also have webtop? I know the photon and original atrix can be hacked to give you full blown linux thru it.

I have to say that the phone + TV combo looks like it should be the next 'big thing'

Just about every example here is a good one. The OnLive/Emulator/Actual Games & Apps example is certainly going to be a good option for the casual gamer. If you swap the controller for a BT keyboard, you'd have a nice couch computer. The Netflix/hulu/video example is also super convenient, especially if you're at a friends house who doesn't have video streaming services setup.

I know the micro HDMI out is picking up steam but I'm not sure it's 'standard' yet

Damn. Now, if only I had a TV with an HDMI port! My living room set is a CRT relic, so it'll be a while before this feature gets any use (spousal approval pending). I knew I'd asked the right bunch. 😉 Thanks.
