So my 360 just bricked

So I did an update, that came out about a week or so ago, on my 360. Started playing a game, about 6 minutes into playing it locked.

No big deal I thought the 360 does that every once in a while, although never before with this game.

So I restarted and it locked up on the rising sun 360 logo.

Me, "Eh?"

I restart again, locks on logo with buzzing from speakers

Me, "Uh Oh."

I restart it again and it does the ring of death.

Me, "Ah Nuts"

Call 360 support and after dealing with a nice but hard to understand Indian lady they determine, surprise, it's broken...... but it's still under warranty. Yay 1 year extension.

So they are going to mail me the box to send it to them in. Guess I will have to play with my other 360 that updated fine until then....pooot.

She said turn around time is about 2 weeks from today, is that about right? Thanks

Why? People many times have more than one TV. Plus it'd be cool to play against each other locally.

Since they started updating them constantly online. All that does is introduce the possibilities of more problems. Especially when you start changing out hardware inside like the 360 has been doing (mostly different brands of DVD drives).

or even cooler to play multi-screen forza/forza 2!

XBox 360's are about as reliable as early gen PS2's were... talk about lousy build quality. Lately I feel like I don't want to own any of the next gen systems, except maybe a Wii one day... but I'm not even sold on that.

My PS2 was (and still is) pretty solid.

consider yourself lucky, I had 2 die(the laser problem) and several friends had the same issue. They were all purchased pretty early. But just an annoyance.

Almost everyone I know who has a PS2 has had problems with theirs...

I never buy consoles right after launch. I wait a couple of months before going purchasing new systems.

I don't buy them right after launch either. My PS2 still died on me.

Yah, it's all random luck really. I had a PS1 that I had to play upside down and my launch PS2 had that disc read error.

ahhh the beauty of patches and updates - when a console wants to be a PC 😉

My Genesis I bought in '94 is still running solid.

I think super nintendo and sega genesis were my most problem free consoles.

nope,

Atari 2600, still have it...working great....excpet one of the joysticks looks like a nake bone sticking up because the rubber boot is gone..

back to basics boyz

My worst luck has been with the NES... i have had 3 or 4 of them die on me. I am not sure whether it is the build quality or the fact that the things are so dang old.

Genesis is still kicking, as well as the N64 and Saturn.

No clue if the Playstation is still working since it was sold to help pay for my brother's PS2.

That one has all sorts of DRE problems as well as a loose multi-av out port that often drops audio channels.

I have a slimline PSTwo that is working great, although it is a refurb replacement for my original that had bad capacitors.

It seems that as consoles become more and more like PC's, they start having more and more of the same issues with quality control. Darn that complexity that gives us immersive gaming experiences XD

My Wii hasn't given me any problems yet, but my old PS2 had a little issue of locking up on too many restarts in 1 hour.

My PS2 is still running great after 3 years. I'm sure my N64 still works, but I haven't played it for years.
