What about the 914 and 944? Well before the Boxster. And I don't think there is anything wrong with any of those cars, but if you can afford a 911, I say go for it.

A Boxster? Really? I've always considered them a 'fake' porsche, am I way off?

If anything the cayenne would fall in that category. Boxster is a pretty solid mid engine platform, especially if you get the zeintop

it doesn't matter, this is a daily driver for me and I go to some unsavory neighborhoods for my job, I can't imagine a porsche would do well for me. although I would love to have one lol.

Its a proper drop top from day one mid engine roadster. Superior to the 911. Thats exactly why Porsche is careful to artificially limit engine sizes and power in the Boxster and Cayman.

A TT or GT Boxster would destroy the 911. People who say the Boxster is a wanna be Porsche either cannot afford a 911 OR Boxster, or people with 911s who think the MSRP they paid is all that matters.
