I know this thread is about dating, but I was curious about marriage ages of consent. I was shock at my state's law.

It's funny that the age for buying cigarettes is going up in some states to 21. But you can marry a 12 year old girl in Massachusetts with parental consent! Even Mississippi is 15 for a female!

You'd be a level 3 sex offender, if you got caught having sex with one, but marriage... A Okay... apparently.

Ok so looking from the other side...im 16 and am Somewhat involved with a man who is 25... I know older people think that we all are mistaken in thinking that we are advanced and mature, but let me tell you that some shit has happened in my life that has caused me to grow up faster than I should have. It's tragic, really, how fragile youth is and how it can be ripped away. But, anyways, I find boys closeto my age extremely lacking in substance. iam trying to come to terms with the certain....lack of legality that my situation involves....but, it feels right and I'm happy with the way I feel. My point is that yes, it is illegal, and yes, there is the possibility of them being on two different levels in life and there being a fucked up power dynamic. But there is always the possibility of this girl being on his level, or visa versa. When thinking about situations like this, it is only fair to try to consider all facets....and relationships just have so many.
