Aurora girls held for allegedly pouring acid in teacher's coffee

Published October 11, 2001

Two Aurora girls were being held Wednesday at the Kane County Juvenile Justice Center after they allegedly spiked a middle school teacher's coffee with hydrochloric acid, police said.

The teacher was treated at Dreyer Medical Clinic for burns on his mouth and released. The girls, ages 12 and 13, were charged with felony aggravated battery.

The girls, pupils at Waldo Middle School on the near east side, allegedly poured the acid from a beaker into the teacher's coffee between morning classes while the teacher was monitoring the hallway.

Both girls stayed in the room during break because they had the teacher for a previous study hall and a subsequent science class, police said.

Before leaving the classroom, the teacher placed the acid on his desk, where his coffee cup also was sitting, and warned students not to touch it. Upon returning, the teacher took a sip of the coffee, immediately realized it had been spiked, spit it out and summoned help.

Talk about fuXored up! Even though it really shouldn't be a shock given the day and age, it still blows my mind. :| What the hell could that teacher have done to deserve that? Nothing I'm sure.

Woah, those kids are going to have quite the track record by the time there 20...I say just keep them in the slammer until school is done...

I bet the teacher was a prick, but still that could of killed him if they didn't put as much acid in and he didn't taste it immediatly. (sp?)

It's no more crazy than a couple of guys entering their school with a couple of guns and rifles and shooting everything which moves.

Yet another good point made by Elledan.

Circumstances like these make you ask, Why?

I wonder if they realized the seriousness of what they were doing.

When I was 13, I knew not to pour acid in other peoples drinks. Either these kids are real stupid or real crazy.

Hehehe...

I thought at first that they poured Acid in the coffee😕😛😕:Q😕:|😀

anyway..... bad kids! no acid in teachers coffee!
